Meirong holds a Ph.D. in Genetics and completed her postdoctoral training at UCSF, where she investigated the cellular and molecular mechanisms that enable organisms and cells to survive extreme physiological stress and injury. Prior to joining the READY Center, she worked in industry as a Scientist in CRISPR-based cell line development, with extensive experience engineering mammalian and iPSC cells using CRISPR-based approaches.

At the READY Center, she will focus on developing iPSC based disease models and CRISPR genome engineering workflows to investigate disease mechanisms and advance functional genomics and therapeutic discovery.
